Arguably one of the easiest ways to tie your custom tie is with this basic knot, usually called the four in hand tie knot.  This is the one we all learnt to tie at school, many of us while in primary school which likely sounds a long time ago to most!

Being simple, effortless, smart and easy to un-do, you can easily see why this is the go-to knot for most youngsters and adults alike.

How to tie a Four In Hand Knot

  1. Cross the front of the tie over the tail, then underneath it in the opposite direction.
  2. Cross the front over the tail again in the same direction as before (it should look like you have simply wrapped it around the tail), now pull the front up through the loop at the neck
  3. Loosen the loop you created (when you wrapped the front around the tail) and feed it through the loop.
  4. Adjust the knot to sit snugly against your shirt collar.

There you have it, a basic tie knot perfect for any occasion!
