Our club has a rich history – can the tie reflect that (e.g., founding year or multiple emblems)?
Absolutely. Keltic can incorporate elements that nod to your club’s history. For instance, if you want the founding year (e.g., “Est. 1888”) on the tie, they can weave that in subtly at the base or as part of the stripe pattern. If your club has won major honors (like stars for European Cups or a special emblem for a centenary), those can potentially be included as well.
The design team will balance these details so the tie doesn’t become cluttered – typically, a tasteful stripe pattern in club colors with the club crest and maybe a small additional symbol can convey a lot of heritage. They will work closely with you to capture the club’s legacy in the design.
How fast can we get ties for the whole club?
Keltic usually delivers within 4 weeks of approving the final design. This is really handy for football clubs, especially if you’re planning to roll out new ties for the start of a season or a special cup final appearance. Be sure to account for any time needed to get design approvals (like from the club board or sponsors if their logos are involved).
But once the green light is given, the production is swift. If you have a specific debut date – say a sponsors’ dinner – let Keltic know, and they’ll confirm if the timeline can be met (it usually can).
We have a main sponsor – can their logo or colors be part of the tie design?
Yes, if desired. Some clubs choose to acknowledge a main sponsor subtly on the tie (for example, a small text or logo near the bottom on a limited run tie). However, many clubs keep sponsor logos to jerseys and keep ties more traditional. It’s really up to you. Keltic can incorporate extra logos or text, but they will also advise on maintaining a classy look.
If your sponsor’s color is, say, a particular shade of green, you could incorporate that color as one of the stripes – that’s a common approach to nod to a sponsor without overt branding. Always ensure you have the sponsor’s permission for use of their logo if you go that route.
Do the ties come in different sizes (for youth academy or senior vs junior squads)?
Keltic’s standard tie size is approximately 56–58 inches long, which fits most adults. For youth or academy players, they can produce a shorter version (for example, around 50 inches) so that the tie still looks proportional on a shorter individual. There might be a minimum quantity per size, but if your club is ordering for a range of ages, Keltic can split the order into some standard and some shorter ties.
We want to sell club ties in our merchandise store – is that common?
Yes, many clubs do this. Ordering ties through Keltic with merchandise in mind is a great idea. Fans and former players often love to purchase official club ties as a show of support or nostalgia. You might order a batch for the team and extras for retail.
Keltic can advise on a design that’s both official for team use and appealing for supporters (often they are one and the same). The quality of the ties is high enough that they make a nice merchandise item. Since Keltic’s pricing is competitive, clubs can often add a reasonable markup in the club shop for fundraising purposes while still keeping the ties affordable for fans.
What support does Keltic provide during the design approval process?
Keltic provides excellent support. They will supply multiple design proofs if needed, showing different concepts (e.g., one with broad stripes, one with thin stripes, one with a solid background and a crest pattern) so your club officials can choose. They’re patient with feedback – if your committee requests changing a color tone or moving a stripe, Keltic will update the visual and resend it.
They understand that for high-profile clubs, several stakeholders might need to sign off (coach, chairman, etc.). Keltic can also send a physical sample tie or a sample of the fabric once you’re close to finalizing, so you can feel the texture and see the colors in real life before full production. Essentially, they work as partners with your club until you are completely confident the tie design is perfect.
